The First Congress of the World Organization of Writers (WOW) has marked a defining moment in the history of international literary collaboration. More than just an event, the Congress served as a milestone in fostering global dialogue among writers, poets, translators, researchers, and publishers.
Poetess, artist and thinker Margarita Al, President of World Organization of Writers (WOW) extended her profound gratitude to Nigeria, a nation that welcomed the gathering with an open heart and a rich cultural spirit. Special appreciation is due to Dr. Usman Akanbi, President of the Association of Nigerian Authors, for his unwavering support and instrumental role in preparing for the Congress.
Heartfelt thanks are also extended to Mrs. Idowu Okediran, Chair of the Ebedi International Writers Residency, whose commitment and generosity contributed significantly to the success of the forum. Additionally, WOW acknowledges the remarkable leadership and cultural vision of Dr. Wale Okediran, Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), whose dedication helped bring this Congress to fruition.
Abuja emerged as a powerful symbol of literary unity, where voices from different continents converged in an atmosphere of intellectual solidarity. New pathways for literary cooperation were established, reinforcing the importance of cross-cultural exchange in shaping a global literary community.
WOW, she said, is also honored to convey messages of appreciation from strategic partners, including the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia and Africa, who commended the Congress for its role in strengthening international humanitarian ties through literature.
The success of the First WOW Congress would not have been possible without the contributions of all participants, organizers, and partners. This gathering has laid the foundation for an enduring literary bridge between nations.
Long live the poetic word, and long live the international community of writers!
