Official Media Channels of the Medellín International Poetry Festival 2025

Updated: July 3, 2025

The Colombian Public Media System continues to democratize access to culture by broadcasting key national and regional events. This year, Señal Colombia and Radio Nacional de Colombia will serve as the official television and radio broadcasters of the 35th Medellín International Poetry Festival, which will take place from July 5 to 12, featuring over 60 poetic and artistic activities.

With full production and media teams on the ground, both platforms will broadcast live poetry readings, performances, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, films, and concerts from neighborhoods in Medellín and surrounding towns in Antioquia. RTVC Noticias, the national news outlet, will also provide special coverage in its daily broadcasts.

As part of the Festival, Señal Colombia will launch a new program titled ‘Verso a Verso’, airing in July. This unique literary television segment will highlight poetry and spotlight new and emerging voices from across Colombia, celebrating their creative contributions to national culture.

“Broadcasting the Medellín International Poetry Festival nationwide via radio and TV shows RTVC’s commitment to culture, arts, and human rights promotion through peace-driven narratives,” said Hollman Morris, General Manager of RTVC.

Hosting this prestigious international gathering—featuring poets from 45 countries and 60 participants—aligns with RTVC’s strategy to enrich its cultural programming, which includes:

  • Señal Literaria (literature),

  • Extramuros (visual arts),

  • El álbum de los fotógrafos (photography),

  • Concierto de la Esperanza (music),

  • and the upcoming premiere of ‘Chiribiquete, Journey to the Ancestral Memory of Latin America’.

With ‘Verso a Verso’, poetry now finds a permanent home on Colombian screens.
