Swansea, Wales – December 27, 2025
The C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture (CIC), Swansea, Wales, proudly hosted renowned Nigerian writer and cultural advocate Dr. Wale Okediran as part of his ongoing UK Book Reading Tour, celebrating the power of African storytelling and global literary exchange. The event featured a compelling reading from his latest book, MADAGALI, a work that has already begun to resonate strongly with readers across borders.
Held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Center for African Entrepreneurship, 28 Oxford Street, Swansea, the Wales edition of the tour was presented as a special Christmas literary package, bringing together lovers of literature, culture, and African narratives in a warm and reflective festive atmosphere.
Dr. Okediran’s reading offered audiences insight into the thematic depth and human concerns at the heart of MADAGALI, a book that draws on lived realities, memory, resilience, and the complex intersections of history and contemporary African experience. The session was followed by engaging discussions, informal exchanges, and reflections that underscored literature’s role in building bridges between cultures.
The Swansea event followed two well-attended readings in London earlier in the tour. On December 18, 2025, Dr. Okediran met with literary enthusiasts at the Daniel Ford Associates office in King’s Cross, and on December 19, 2025, he read at the iconic Africa Centre, 66 Great Suffolk Street, London—both venues serving as important hubs for African and global literary dialogue in the UK.
By hosting Dr. Okediran, the C3 Centre for Creativity and Culture reaffirmed its commitment to promoting creativity, intercultural understanding, and African voices within the UK’s cultural landscape. The collaboration with the Center for African Entrepreneurship also highlighted the growing synergy between literature, culture, and community empowerment in Wales.
Dr. Wale Okediran’s UK tour continues to position MADAGALI not only as a significant literary work but also as a catalyst for conversation, empathy, and shared human experience—making the Swansea gathering a memorable highlight in a season of celebration and reflection.
