A cultural meeting was recently held with Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, and Huu Viet, Deputy Head of the Association’s International Cooperation Department and one of Vietnam’s distinguished contemporary poets, who previously served as Head of the Culture, Literature, and Art Department at Nhan Dan.
The meeting was attended by the the Russian poet Vadim Teryokhin, who authored the meeting note, renowned Arab poet Abdullah Issa, alongside Comrade Hung, Director of the Traditions and Friendship Foundation. The gathering reflected a shared commitment to strengthening literary and cultural dialogue between Vietnam and the Arab world, as well as broader international literary cooperation.
Discussions focused on the role of literature in fostering intercultural understanding, promoting peace, and encouraging cooperation among writers, poets, and cultural institutions. Participants also exchanged views on translation projects, literary exchange programs, and future collaborative initiatives aimed at expanding communication between Asian, Arab, and Russian literary communities.
The meeting highlighted the importance of poetry and cultural diplomacy in building bridges between peoples and preserving the values of dialogue, creativity, and mutual respect in an increasingly complex global landscape.
