In celebration of the 120th anniversary of the birth of D. Natsagdorj, the founder of modern Mongolian literature, renowned writer, statesman, and public intellectual, Mongolia is hosting a major literary initiative that highlights the enduring legacy of Mongolian letters and its global cultural dialogue.
As part of this commemorative program, a series of books is being published in the Mongolian language, reflecting a wide intercultural and transnational literary collaboration. These include “Homeland”, a collective poetic work featuring authors from Mongolia, Kalmykia, Buryatia, Xinjiang, Upper Mongolia, Inner Mongolia, as well as Egypt (Ashraf Aboul-Yazid) and Syria (Hani Nadeem); “Awakening of Vision” by Margarita Al; and “The Road to the Gobi” by Elena Olzheeva.

The World Union of Mongolian Nomadic Heritage emphasizes that this publication series represents not only a tribute to Natsagdorj’s literary legacy but also a continuation of his vision of cultural openness and intellectual exchange across borders.
Among the featured authors is Elena Viktorovna Olzheeva (also known as Diilvrin Okn), a writer and medical doctor. She serves as Co-Chair of the Council of the World Peoples’ Literary Assembly and Secretary of the World Writers’ Organization, and is a member of the Writers’ Union of the Russian Federation. A follower of the spiritual teachings of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, she has developed a distinctive literary voice shaped by her experiences across India, Tibet, and Mongolia.

Her works include “Tibet – I Will Come to You” and “The Road to the Gobi,” both written during her stays in India, Tibet, and Mongolia. Her novel “The Path of the Divine” was published in Moscow as part of the “Silver LIFT” book series.
This initiative stands as a testament to the living continuity of Mongolian literary heritage, reaffirming literature as a bridge between cultures, geographies, and spiritual traditions.
