WOW Concludes Literary Tour in Brazil and Continues Cultural Mission in Colombia

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – June 2026 – The World Organization of Writers (WOW) is concluding its intensive literary tour across Brazil and preparing to continue its cultural mission in Colombia following a dynamic series of events held under the auspices of the World Public Summit in Latin America, “A New World: Latin America in Creating a Shared Future,” and WOW’s international project, “We Are People of One Planet.”

The Brazilian leg of the tour brought together writers, poets, scholars, and cultural figures through a rich and diverse program that included six literary and cultural events in Salvador and seven in Rio de Janeiro. The gatherings fostered dialogue on literature, translation, cultural diplomacy, and the role of the arts in shaping a more humane and interconnected future.

Throughout the tour, participants explored the power of literature to build bridges across languages and cultures while reaffirming the importance of intellectual cooperation and artistic exchange in addressing contemporary global challenges. The meetings served as open platforms for readings, discussions, and interdisciplinary conversations that emphasized shared human values and the responsibility of writers as voices of conscience and cultural understanding.

As the delegation departs for Colombia, the literary journey enters a new chapter, carrying forward the spirit of cooperation and creative exchange that characterized the Brazilian events. The Colombian program will continue to promote dialogue among writers and readers and strengthen cultural ties throughout Latin America and beyond.

Pictured during the Brazilian tour are three members of the World Organization of Writers (WOW) and the Literary Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World: Luis Carlos Prestes, Elena Olzeeva, and Margarita Al. Their participation symbolizes the international and inclusive character of the initiative and reflects the organization’s commitment to literature as a force for peace, mutual understanding, and the creation of a shared human future.

The literary tour stands as another milestone in WOW’s growing global activities, demonstrating that in an increasingly interconnected world, culture and the written word remain among humanity’s most powerful instruments for dialogue, solidarity, and hope.
