Dushanbe, Tajikistan – June 2026 – Tajik poet and public intellectual Kosimzoda Abdulqahhor Sattor (Abduqahhori Qosim) has announced the publication of his acclaimed poem “Ode to the Rogun HPP” in India, marking another milestone in the international journey of one of the most widely translated contemporary poetic works dedicated to Tajikistan’s national development and aspirations.
The English version of the poem, translated by the distinguished writer and translator Marlene Passini of Mexico, has been published by Aadhya Publishing House under the editorship of Akansha Srivastava, Editor-in-Chief of the international journal associated with the publishing house. In his statement, the author expressed profound gratitude to both the publisher and the editor for introducing the poem to English-speaking audiences and contributing to its growing global reach.
“Ode to the Rogun HPP” has already been translated into thirteen languages, including Russian, English, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Bengali, Greek, and Tagalog. The international team of translators includes literary figures from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, reflecting the poem’s universal resonance and its ability to transcend linguistic and cultural boundaries.
The author extended his deepest appreciation to all translators who have participated in the project and announced a new initiative inviting volunteers to translate the poem into additional languages, including Indonesian, Hindi, Portuguese, Serbian, French, Urdu, Romanian, Turkmen, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Belarusian. All translations will be undertaken on a voluntary basis and later incorporated into a comprehensive multilingual collection to be published in Tajikistan.
As a gesture of reciprocity and cultural solidarity, Kosimzoda Abdulqahhor Sattor also pledged to publish materials about participating translators in his newspaper in Tajikistan, thereby creating an international platform of literary exchange and mutual recognition.
The poem was submitted to the competition “Rogun – The Beacon of the Homeland’s Future” in the category of Artistic Poetry in Foreign Languages. Its author serves at the Information and Analytical Center of the Executive Office of the Central Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan and is also Co-Chair of the Literary Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World.
Celebrating the Rogun Hydropower Plant as a symbol of national unity, independence, and the aspirations of future generations, the poem has evolved into an international literary project. Through its translations and global circulation, Ode to the Rogun HPP stands as a testament to the power of poetry to illuminate shared human values and to build bridges of understanding among cultures and languages worldwide.
