POET AND THE WAR
by Santosh Kumar Pokharel

I live large
Larger than life
Know how to survive
Living I have learned
All my egos burned
As I charge

Food and bed
Shed overhead
What more does one need
For what was I made
Ponder these days
What me led

Live life free
Life is a spree
Peace, as you call it
Is dead you agree
I’m fine all die
Leave me free

They pled peace
Nations turned deaf
Thousands now are gone
Smoke has choked the dawn
My heart burns low
Still winds blow

Earth may heal
If hearts yet kneel
Green waits beneath dust
Hope is yet a must
Let love restore
Home once more
