Leonid Selemenev Discovers Remarkable Artistic Works During Visit to the Likhachev Center

Moscow, November 4, 2026 — Photographer Leonid Selemenev visited the Likhachev Center in Moscow at the invitation of Iraida Yusupova, where he attended a special screening of a new film devoted to the life and artistic legacy of Dmitry Prigov, one of the prominent figures of Russian contemporary conceptual art and literature.

Leonid

The visit also offered an opportunity for an unexpected artistic discovery. In a note reflecting on the occasion, Selemenev wrote:

“Interesting works by Leonid Feodor were discovered at the Likhachev Center, where Iraida Yusupova had invited me to watch a new film about Prigov on November 4, 2026.”

His observation highlights the value of cultural encounters that bring together cinema, photography, literature, and the visual arts. Beyond the film screening itself, the visit opened a window onto other artistic works and creative expressions preserved or presented at the Center.

The gathering at the Likhachev Center thus became more than a cinematic event: it provided an opportunity to explore artistic connections and discover works that might otherwise remain outside the spotlight.

Such encounters reaffirm the importance of cultural institutions as spaces for artistic dialogue, discovery, and the preservation of diverse creative legacies.

Editorial note: I have retained the name Leonid Feodor as it appears in the original Russian note. It would be worth confirming its spelling before publication.
