The Writers’ Association of The Gambia (WAG) will take part in these deliberations, represented by its President, Prof. Cherno Omar Barry. Prof. Barry will present a paper on literature’s role in education and human development, emphasising Africa’s digital future and the potential of AI-enhanced teaching. At the sidelines of the congress, WAG will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding with WOW, a milestone that secures The Gambia’s place in a global partnership dedicated to literature, humanism, and cultural exchange.
According to Prof. Barry:
“For The Gambia, this congress means access, visibility, and collaboration. It allows us to showcase our literature, learn from global experiences, and reaffirm that Gambian writers are part of shaping the humanistic future of world literature.”
