PAWA APPRECIATES THE AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION’S SUPPORT.

The Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) has acknowledged the continous support of the African Union Commission (AUC) in its 30- year operation as the umbrella body for all National Writers Associations in Africa.

This fact came to light during the ongoing AUC 5th session of the Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Youth, Culture and Sport in Bujumbura, Burundi where PAWA was one of the participants.

The STC meeting under the theme: “Reclaiming Dignity and Advancing Reparatory Justice through Youth, Culture and Sport” was a response to the longstanding demand for restorative justice and reparations for the injustices of slavery, colonialism, apartheid and systematic exploitation.

Above picture showed Dr Wale Okediran, PAWA’s Secretary General presenting some PAWA publications to Dr Angela Martins, AUC’s acting Director for Social Development, Culture and Sport Division in appreciation of PAWA’s gratitude to the AUC during the event.
