Poetry has always been a key part of Arab culture, it’s often called the “language of the Arabs” and has long been one of the most prominent forms of literary expression in the region. However, poetry has gradually declined in the Arab region, despite the great moral value of Arab poets from the past. But, what about the future? What is the status of new poets, and what opportunities do they have to share their work? Can we play a role in reviving interest in Arabic poetry? Let’s explore and try together.

As part of Action for Hope’s 10th anniversary celebration, we are pleased to launch our new program, ‘Awwal Bayt,’ dedicated to young poets in the Arab region aged 14-22 who are eager to develop their skills in writing poetry in Formal Literary Arabic and share their work with a wider audience. Application deadline on May 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM Beirut time. No applications will be accepted after this date.As part of Action for Hope’s 10th anniversary celebration, we are pleased to launch our new program, ‘Awwal Bayt,’ dedicated to young poets in the Arab region aged 14-22 who are eager to develop their skills in writing poetry in Formal Literary Arabic and share their work with a wider audience.
