New Global Honor for Tajik Poet Abduqahhor Qosim at the International CIESART-2025 Summit in Spain

From December 4–8, 2025, the cities of Madrid and Cuenca in Castilla-La Mancha hosted a new edition of the international gathering of writers and artists, CIESART-2025. The summit was organized with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the City Councils of Cuenca and La Alberca, the Lucas Aguirre Cultural Center, and the Miguel de Cervantes Cultural Center.

Among the distinguished participants was Abdulqahhor Qosimzoda—a representative of the Central Executive Body of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, President of the International Chamber of Writers and Artists (Cámara Internacional de Escritores & Artistas), Co-Chair of the Literary Council of the Assembly of Peoples of the World, and a renowned poet writing under the name Abdukakhor Kosim. Officially invited by the organization’s General President, Dr. Lily Bailón Escritora, he took part actively in the proceedings. In recognition of his outstanding literary career and his lasting contribution to global cultural and humanitarian development, he received both an Honorary Doctorate and the title of Honorary Member from the Royal Academy for the Preservation of Indigenous Cultures and Languages.

Over the past fifteen years, Dr. Lily Bailón Escritora has built a worldwide community of scholars, artists, and cultural figures, inspiring thousands through her vision of light, compassion, and cultural diplomacy. Under her leadership, CIESART has become a beacon of global cooperation in the arts.

At her recommendation, and following Academic Corps review, Tajik poet Gulnozi Tohiriyon was also awarded the titles of Honorary Doctor and Honorary Member of the Royal Academy for the Protection of Cultures and Native Languages.

The summit opened with a scientific and literary conference at the Cuenca City Hall on the theme:
“CIESART and the Protection of Human Dignity: Upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”
More than 90 participants from 33 countries shared their perspectives on protecting human rights and human dignity.

On the second day, the Miguel de Cervantes Cultural Center hosted the “White Night of Peace”, a global gathering marking the 15th anniversary of CIESART’s service to humanity. A Presidium representing Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States was elected—with Abdukakhkhor Qosim presiding over the Asian delegation. Nearly one hundred honored guests were awarded United Nations insignia during the ceremony.

Participants, dressed in white as a symbol of hopeful destiny for the world, spoke about peace, stability, mutual understanding, and the unifying power of art and literature. To emphasize linguistic diversity and respect for global heritage, speakers addressed the assembly in their native languages. Representing independent Tajikistan, Abdukakhkhor Qosim delivered his speeches in both Tajik and Russian.

This year’s CIESART summit was dedicated to “The Path of Don Quixote”, honoring the enduring legacy of Cervantes’ hero as a symbol of courage and devotion to ideals. On December 6, participants visited historic sites in Castilla-La Mancha associated with the novel. Later, in a solemn ceremony, new laureates received the official CIESART medal and were formally inducted as Honorary Doctors and Honorary Members of the Royal Academy for the Protection of Cultures and Native Languages.

CIESART, an internationally recognized academic institution, bestows its Doctor Honoris Causa as its highest decoration in the humanities, literature, and the arts—an honor reserved for creators who elevate global culture, humanistic values, and the preservation of cultural identities.

On December 7, the CIESART Awards ceremony took place, marking the conclusion of the CIESART-2025 conference, which ended in an atmosphere of humanism, creativity, and deep cultural respect.

Poet, composer, playwright, journalist, and publicist Qosimzoda Abdulqahhor Sattor—known by the pen name Abdukakhor Kosim—continues to uphold the legacy of Mirzo Tursunzoda, carrying the voice of Tajik language, culture, and literature to the wider world. His contributions span roles as national coordinator, ambassador of peace, academic member, and cultural envoy across numerous international organizations, including WOW (Russia), the World Poetry Movement “World Without Walls,” Leeway Peace and Human Rights Foundation (Nigeria), UMPPL, FOWCAAS (Singapore), and multiple academies and writers’ unions across the globe.
