About the Anthology
Chants de Terres Indociles is not merely a poetry collection — it is an archipelago of human experience, giving flight to expressions of identity, struggle, love, and spiritual endurance. The texts were selected from over 400 submissions following an open international call, reflecting the richness and diversity of modern poetic voices in French and translated African languages. The anthology is introduced by a preface from noted poet, engineer, and peace ambassador Arwa Ben Dhia, who frames the work as a “choral celebration” of lands that refuse subjugation and carry the flame of historical resistance.
Editorial Vision and Themes
The anthology is built around three unifying themes:
- Memory – Keeping cultural roots alive through poetic witness.
- Resistance – Using verse as a form of struggle and dignity.
- Hope – Passing the torch of imagination and resilience to future generations.
This collective work responds to urgent contemporary realities while honoring longstanding traditions of African orality and poetic resistance. It brings together both emerging and established voices whose poems traverse continents, cultural heritage, and lived experience.
