Brazil Hosts WOW Voices Across Continents

Writers, poets, translators, and scholars from different parts of the world are set to gather in a remarkable international literary meeting that celebrates dialogue between cultures, the future of literature, and the enduring power of creativity. Bringing together distinguished intellectuals from Brazil, Russia, Egypt, India, Colombia, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, and beyond, the event reflects a global literary spirit rooted in cultural exchange and human understanding.

The sessions will be moderated by the Russian avant-garde poet Margarita Al, President of the World Organization of Writers “WOW” and Chair of the Literary Council of the ANM. Coordination is led by Brazilian writer and scholar Joao Filho, a prize-winning author and specialist in Portuguese literature from the University of São Paulo.

Among the prominent offline speakers are Brazilian poet and translator Claudio Sousa Pereira, writer and professor Állex Leilla, poet and editor Gustavo Felicíssimo, Russian-language translator Alice Vieira, poet and writer Murillo Sousa, translator and professor Alberto Andrade, renowned novelist and academic Aleilton Fonseca, and writer and professor Suenio Campos de Lucena.

The online sessions will connect audiences with internationally respected literary voices, including Russian poet and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova, Egyptian poet and Silk Road Literature  chief editor Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, Emirati poet and translator Adel Khozam, Colombian novelist and translator Rubén Darío Flores Arcila, Indian academic Prithviraj Taur, Nigerian writer and PAWA Secretary-General Wale Okediran, Azerbaijani writer Waris Elchiev, and author and literary organizer Eldar Akhadov.

The gathering stands as a vibrant testament to literature’s ability to transcend borders and languages. Through poetry, criticism, translation, and storytelling, the participants aim to create new cultural bridges and reaffirm the role of writers as guardians of dialogue, memory, and imagination in an increasingly divided world.
