A profound literary gathering marked the presentation of Alvaro Mata Guille’s new book ; Una serpiente sin alas (“A Wingless Serpent”), published by El Arco y La Flecha Editores, during a special cultural event held at Lugar de los Escudos.
More than a conventional book launch, the evening became an emotional reunion with memory, poetry, friendship, and the invisible voices that continue to inhabit human experience. The presentation symbolically inaugurated the journey of the book — “the serpent,” as participants described it — alongside the figures of Antigone and Narcissus, through fog, uncertainty, and inner reflection.
The event explored themes of identity, memory, absence, and the dialogue between human beings and their surroundings. Speakers reflected on how personal and collective experiences remain alive within us, shaping our perception of the present through recollection, echoes of the past, and intimate conversations with memory itself.

The presentation also highlighted the philosophical and poetic atmosphere surrounding the work, emphasizing that moments, like the night and the horizon, ultimately reside within the human spirit.
Special appreciation was expressed to Juan Guillermo Lera, Alejandro Rojas, and Telesforo García for their participation and intellectual companionship during the event.
The organizers also extended heartfelt gratitude to the poet Carmen Rojas Larrazábal and to El Arco y La Flecha Editores, described as a “house of birth and revelation” for the literary project.
Thanks were likewise dedicated to the cultural venue Lugar de los Escudos for hosting the gathering, and to Mauricio Montpellier for documenting the occasion through photographs and accompanying the literary journey of the book.

The presentation of Una serpiente sin alas opened a new chapter in the life of the work, transforming its first public appearance into a shared exploration of poetry, uncertainty, remembrance, and human connection.
