To the peoples of the world:
What we observe in current history is not a simple crossroads; it is the manifestation of the appetite for war, of the empire’s boundless ambition against the sovereignty and resources of peoples, founded on a will for mass annihilation.
In the face of the daily genocide against the Palestinian people, the expansionist war against Iran, the aggression and plunder against Venezuela, the threat against Cuba and the peoples of Latin America, the repression against migrants, and against the fascism that lays an ambush for culture in the world in order to destroy the identity and the dream of peoples, the World Poetry Movement calls on humanity to resist with love and imagination, with the creative word and with life.
Resistance is not an option; it is the only dignified human response to the enemies of life.
We will resist from all the territories of culture, raising our voice where only indifference exists. No crime should be invisible to the world.
Poetry is the voice of planetary conscience that calls for building a peace more active than all wars, based on a new global network of mutual solidarity.
The triumph of life and of poetry will not be a chimera, but the consequence of the unity and mobilizing energy of peoples.
True history is not written by cannons; it is written by the dream of poetic justice arising from the human heart.
We call on poets and on the world to a new and forceful action for global peace during the coming month of November.
