At a meeting of the Board of the Brazilian Writers’ Union (Sindicato dos Escritores do Brasil), a preliminary draft for the III International Writers’ Meeting in 2026 was reviewed and approved. The event was attended by Paulo Bracarence, President Jorge Bernardi and Director Josemar Gagnoux.
The tradition of holding such forums and congresses of writers has already developed in different countries of the world. In recent years, the World Organization of Writers (WOW) has awarded prizes to authors from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria and Russia, recognizing their contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage, the development of humanistic values and the strengthening of global literary dialogue.
The selection of Brazil as the next host country highlights the growing importance of Latin America in the global literary network. The upcoming forum promises to become a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing new literary trends and strengthening cooperation between writers from all continents, confirming the idea of WOW: we are people of the same planet, united by word and creativity.
