عيون خائفة،
عيون بلا نوم،
عيون تتوسّل،
عيون بريئة…
أطفالٌ كُثُر بمفردهم،
فقدوا الجميع
في القصف
الأعمى…
يبدون تائهين،
تتحدّث عيونهم
مجلّدات ومجلّدات
عن مستقبلٍ قاتم…
لقد حصدت الحرب
أرواح هؤلاء الأبرياء!
لأجل ماذا هذه الحرب؟
ولأجل من؟
حين تتلاشى الآمال
ويغدو المستقبل مظلمًا،
ماذا تبقّى لهؤلاء الأطفال،
سوى الرجاء في الأفضل؟
لِمَن هذه الحرب أصلًا…؟

شريط ضيّق صغير من الأرض،
عظمة نزاع
ومسرح عداءٍ
بين بلدين.
في مرمى النيران
يقع الأطفال الأبرياء،
المدنيون التعساء،
المشرّدون، والعاجزون.
لِمَن هذه الحرب أصلًا،
بلا منتصرين
ولا منهزمين،
بل متألّمين فقط؟
ناسٌ مُمزّقون،
لا ينتمون إلى أيّ مكان،
يتوسّلون مأوى
يظلّل رؤوسهم،
وسلامًا
يُسكن بيوتهم، قلوبهم، وأرضهم!

بادماجا إيينغار – بادي، مصرفية سابقة بارزة ومستشارة سابقة في الحكم الحضري، تميّزت بإصدارها الأول في الشعر بعنوان “P-EN-CHANTS”، والذي تم تسجيله كإنجاز فريد من نوعه في كتاب الأرقام القياسية الهندي India Book of Records، لاحتوائه على مراجعات أفلام ومواضيع إدارية منظومة على شكل قصائد، وهو أمر لم يُسبق إليه.
حازت “بادي” على عدّة جوائز مرموقة، أبرزها دكتوراه فخرية في الأدب (Litt.D.) خلال المؤتمر العالمي الثالث والأربعين للشعراء. وقد جمعت وحررت ستّ أنثولوجيات شعرية دولية متعددة اللغات، وأربع أنثولوجيات باللغة الإنجليزية، من بينها سلسلة “منشور عمّارافاتي الشعري – Amaravati Poetic Prism” من 2016 إلى 2019، والتي سُجّلت في كتاب الأرقام القياسية ليمكا – Limca Book of Records كأنثولوجيا شعرية تحتوي على أكبر عدد من اللغات.
كما أشرفت على تحرير أنثولوجيا “النساء، الذكاء والحكمة – WWW: Women, Wit & Wisdom”، وهي أنثولوجيا دولية متعددة اللغات لشاعرات من حول العالم. نُشرت قصائدها ومقالاتها وقصصها القصيرة في العديد من المجلات الورقية والإلكترونية، محليًا ودوليًا. “P-EN-CHANTS…Again” هو أحدث مجموعاتها الشعرية.

Scared eyes,
Sleepless eyes,
Pleading eyes,
Innocent eyes…
Many kids alone,
Lost everyone
In the mindless
Shelling …
They look lost.
Their eyes speak
Volumes and volumes
Of a future bleak …
War has taken its toll
On these innocent kids!
This war for what?
This war for whom?
When hopes seem dim
And future seems grim,
What’s left for these children,
Except hoping for the best?
WHOSE WAR IS IT ANYWAY…?

And major hostilities
Between two countries.
Caught in the crossfire
Are innocent children,
Hapless civilians,
Homeless and helpless.
Whose war is it anyway
With no winners
And no losers,
Only sufferers?
People torn apart
Belonging nowhere
Begging for a roof
Over their heads
And peace in their
Home, heart and land!

Padmaja Iyengar-Paddy, senior ex-banker and former urban governance consultant has the distinction of her maiden poetry collection “P-EN-CHANTS” recognized as a Unique Record of Excellence by the India Book of Records for never-before-attempted movie reviews and management subjects in rhymes. Paddy is a recipient of several awards notably an Honorary Doctor of Literature (Litt.D.) conferred upon her at the 43rd World Congress of Poets. She has compiled and edited 6 international multilingual poetry anthologies and 4 English poetry anthologies of which “AMARAVATI POETIC PRISM” 2016 to 2019 have been recognized by the Limca Book of Records as “Poetry Anthology in Most Languages”. She has also curated WWW – Women, Wit & Wisdom – An International Multilingual Poetry Anthology of Women Poets”. Her poems, articles and short stories are published in several national and international print magazines, e-zines and anthologies. “P-EN-CHANTS…Again” is Paddy’s latest poetry collection.
