KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – As part of the World Poetry Movement’s (WPM) international initiative Global Poetry Action for Gaza, Malaysian poets and international guests will convene virtually and in person on 15 May 2025 at 5:00 PM (GMT +8) for a powerful evening of poetic resistance, reflection, and solidarity with the people of Gaza.
The event, titled “Aksi Puisi Sedunia untuk Gaza” (Global Poetry Action for Gaza), includes readings and poetry workshops across five continents, with the Malaysian session serving as a central moment in this global wave of literary protest and human empathy.
This poetic action occurs on a significant day — Nakba Day (15 May) — marking the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948, an occasion that remains tragically relevant amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
