Call for Contributions: A Commemorative Book in Honor of Poet Konstantin Kedrov

Celebrating the Life, Work, and Legacy of One of Russia’s Most Visionary Poets

The family of the late Russian poet, philosopher, and literary theorist Konstantin Alexandrovich Kedrov has announced the preparation of a memorial book that will celebrate his life, literary achievements, and profound influence on generations of writers, artists, and thinkers. Friends, colleagues, students, and admirers from around the world are warmly invited to contribute texts, poems, memories, reflections, and photographs to this special volume dedicated to the legacy of a man who left an indelible mark on Russian and global literature.

Konstantin Kedrov (1942–2025) was not only a celebrated poet but also a prolific essayist, editor, and cultural figure. A graduate of the Maxim Gorky Literary Institute, he went on to become a major voice in late Soviet and post-Soviet poetic discourse. His unique blend of cosmic vision, philosophical depth, and scientific metaphors led him to develop what he termed the “Poetry of the Universe”, a poetic school that embraced the infinite connections between the arts, sciences, and spiritual inquiry.

Kedrov’s contribution to literary theory was no less significant than his poetry. He was a central figure in the revival of Russian metaphysical and avant-garde traditions and was one of the founders of the Meta-metaphorism movement in the 1980s. His work frequently explored the boundaries between language, consciousness, and the universe, making him a guiding light for many experimental poets and intellectuals.

As editor and co-founder of the literary magazine “Ariadne’s Thread” (Nit Ariadny), Kedrov nurtured new voices while preserving a space for profound philosophical-poetic dialogue. He taught at several institutions, mentored numerous students, and lectured widely on the intersection of art, science, and metaphysics. He also received numerous honors for his literary achievements in Russia and abroad.

In addition to his written works, Kedrov was known for his performative poetry readings, often accompanied by music, digital art, or philosophical commentary. His presence was magnetic, and his words carried a resonance that transcended generations.

Now, as part of preserving and celebrating his vast and visionary legacy, his family invites anyone who knew him, worked with him, learned from him, or was inspired by his poetry and ideas, to send in contributions for the memorial book.
