Adonis (Ali Ahmad Said Esber), nació en Al Qassabin, Siria, el 1 de enero de 1930. Es un destacado poeta, pionero de la poesía árabe moderna, ensayista y profesor universitario. Ha sido candidatizado en varias ocasiones al Premio Nobel de Literatura.

Adonis (Ali Ahmad Said Esber) was born in Al Qassabin, Syria, on January 1, 1930. He is a prominent poet, pioneer of modern Arabic poetry, essayist, and university professor. He has been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
