DAY 4. | In DEFENSE OF GAZA – UNTIL HUMAN SPRING

Nació en India, en 1953. Es poeta, traductora, editora (Kritya), y directora de festivales de poesía -kritya y erudito védico. Tiene cinco colecciones de poesía en hindi y dos en inglés (traducidas por el poeta) y una en malayalam, italiano, estonio y vietnamita y en inglés traducidas por otros poetas. Sus poemas han sido traducidos al chino, albanés, español, uzbeko, indonesio, español, alemán, etc. Su estudio sobre el Atharvaveda se ha publicado como Las semillas de la mente: un nuevo enfoque para el estudio del Atharvaveda, bajo la beca del Centro Nacional de Artes Indira Gandhi. Ha traducido alrededor de 12 obras en malayalam, tanto en prosa como en poesía, al hindi y dos libros de poesía de poetas noruegos, uno de galés y otro de vietnamita. Tiene varios artículos publicados sobre indología en varias revistas.

Premios recibidos: Beca del Centro Nacional de Artes Indira Gandhi en 2004-5, Premio Sahitya Akademi de Traducción 2000, Premio Sate Bank of Travancore de poesía 2001, Premios Literarios de Naji Naaman (Internacional) para 2016. Es miembro del comité coordinador del Movimiento Poético Mundial.

Born in India in 1953, she is a poet, translator, editor (Kritya), and director of poetry festivals (Kritya), and a Vedic scholar. She has five poetry collections in Hindi and two in English (translated by the poet), and one each in Malayalam, Italian, Estonian, and Vietnamese, and in English, translated by other poets. Her poems have been translated into Chinese, Albanian, Spanish, Uzbek, Indonesian, Spanish, German, and others. Her study of the Atharvaveda has been published as The Seeds of the Mind: A New Approach to the Study of Atharvaveda, under a grant from the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. She has translated approximately 12 Malayalam works, both prose and poetry, into Hindi, and two books of poetry by Norwegian poets, one in Welsh, and one in Vietnamese. He has published several articles on Indology in various journals. Awards: Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts Fellowship in 2004-5, Sahitya Akademi Translation Award 2000, Sate Bank of Travancore Poetry Prize 2001, Naji Naaman Literary Awards (International) 2016. He is a member of the coordinating committee of the World Poetry Movement.
