The Silk Road Literature Series will host its Three Continents Creative Meeting on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM (Egypt local time), corresponding to 9:00–10:00 AM in Nigeria, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM in Russia (Moscow), 12:00–1:00 PM in Azerbaijan (Baku), 1:30–2:30 PM in India (New Delhi), and 4:00–5:00 PM in both China (Beijing) and Taiwan (Taipei).
In this one-hour online gathering, six authors from across three continents will present their works newly translated into Arabic by their host, the Egyptian poet and novelist Ashraf Aboul-Yazid.
The session will open with Cao Shui (China) and his monumental project Epic of Eurasia, an ambitious literary undertaking set to be published next year by the Cairo-based Al Nasher Publishing House, founded by Egyptian poet Magdy Aboul-Khier.
This will be followed by Hemant Divate (India), renowned poet and publisher of Poetrywala, who will share insights from A Depressingly Monotonous Landscape, a striking poetry volume reflecting contemporary India, with readings offered in Marathi, Arabic, and English, joined by translator Mustansar Delfi.
Esther Adelana (Nigeria) will then introduce her seven-act play Ìbálé: The Broken Pot, a powerful exploration of identity and resistance against gender inequality.
From Russia, Inna Natcharova will present I, Cleopatra, a richly imagined historical-literary fantasy adorned with her own miniature illustrations of Cleopatra.
Representing Taiwan, poet and artist Miao-ye Tu will share They Are the Daughters of Siraya, a poetry collection interwoven with her artwork.
The meeting will conclude with Mexosh Abdullah (Azerbaijan) and his compelling short story collection The 6th Floor, which offers sharp and vivid portrayals of modern life.
Together, these voices underscore the Silk Road Literature Series’ mission to bridge cultures through translation and shared creativity.
