Conceiçao Lima nació en la ciudad de São Tomé, São Tomé y Príncipe, en diciembre de 1962. Poeta y periodista, ejerció cargos directivos en la televisión, la radio y la prensa escrita. Fue productora de servicios en lengua portuguesa de la BBC de Londres. Licenciada en estudios luso-afro-brasileros, por el King’s College de Londres, le fue otorgada una maestría en estudios africanos por la Escuela de Estudios Africanos y Orientales de Londres, con especialización en gobiernos y políticas del África sub-Sahariana.

Sus poemas se encuentran dispersos en diferentes publicaciones, entre ellas: Coro de poetas y prosistas de São Tomé y Príncipe, 1992; Voces poéticas de la Lusofonía, Sintra, 1999; Antología del Mar en la Poesía Africana de Lengua Portuguesa, Río de Janeiro, 1999; Sterz (Revista austriaca) y Bendenxa -25 poemas de São Tomé e príncipe para los 25 años de Independencia, Lisboa, 2000.

Su primer libro de poesía O Útero da Casa se publicó en la Editorial Caminho de Lisboa. Una antología poética suya está siendo compilada por el centro de estudios afro brasileros de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Minas Gerais, Brasil, país donde se ha difundido parte de su trabajo poético.

Conceiçao Lima was born in São Tomé, São Tomé and Príncipe, in December 1962. A poet and journalist, she held management positions in television, radio, and the print media. She was a producer of Portuguese-language services for the BBC in London. She holds a degree in Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in African Studies from the London School of African and Oriental Studies, specializing in the governments and politics of sub-Saharan Africa.

Her poems are published in various publications, including: Choir of Poets and Prose Writers of São Tomé and Príncipe, 1992; Poetic Voices of Lusophony, Sintra, 1999; Anthology of the Sea in Portuguese-Language African Poetry, Rio de Janeiro, 1999; Sterz (Austrian Journal); and Bendenxa – 25 Poems from São Tomé and Príncipe for the 25th Anniversary of Independence, Lisbon, 2000.

Her first book of poetry, The Womb of the House, was published by Caminho Publishing House in Lisbon. A poetry anthology of hers is being compiled by the Center for Afro-Brazilian Studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where some of her poetry has been disseminated.
