
Tunisian artisan and fashion designer Fadoua Dimassi has achieved a distinguished international recognition by winning an award at the Tabriz International Festival for Artisans, reaffirming Tunisia’s strong presence in the global crafts and traditional fashion arena.
Fadoua Dimassi holds a Baccalaureate degree from the Carthage Institute of Hannibal, along with a Specialist Certificate in Costume Design from the Al-Eksaa Center in Manouba. She also earned a certificate in Media and another as an Artisan specialized in traditional dress. She is the founder and owner of the WACHMA Institute for Contemporary Traditional Dress, dedicated to revitalizing Tunisian heritage garments with a modern creative vision.
Throughout her professional career, Dimassi gained extensive experience working with institutions including Amilis and Super Style in Sharqia, Ilomayer in Kram, and Jean’s War and Super War at Essaid Palace. She has organized numerous fashion shows across Tunisia, presenting collections that blend authenticity with innovation.
She has participated for many years in national, regional, and international exhibitions, notably the Tunisia Innovation Salon. Recently, her fashion designs were showcased in Jakarta, Indonesia, receiving notable appreciation.
Internationally, she participated in several prestigious festivals, including the Pendik International Festival (September 2015) and the 2017 Tabriz International Festival for Artisans. During the latter, she won the Third Prize in Costumes at the Tabriz International Award for Innovation and Creativity in Crafts (with total awards valued at $80,000), receiving $1,500.
In 2019, she was again honored in Tabriz with the Third Prize in Costumes ($1,000) at the International Award for Women Artisans, held within the framework of the Tabriz International Festival for Women Artisans, with total awards valued at $40,000.
These achievements consolidate Fadoua Dimassi’s position as one of Tunisia’s leading artisan fashion designers and a cultural ambassador for Tunisian traditional dress on the international stage, where she continues to innovate while preserving heritage.
