International Recognition for Peacebuilding: Tajikistan’s Abdukahhor Kosim Awarded Russian Peace Foundation Gold Medal

Moscow / Dushanbe — May 2026

The Russian Peace Foundation has awarded its prestigious Gold Medal “For Peacemaking and Charitable Activities” to Abdukahhor Kosim of Tajikistan, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to peacebuilding, humanitarian service, and charitable initiatives.

The Gold Medal “For Peacemaking and Charitable Activities” is among the highest honors bestowed by the Russian Peace Foundation. Established to recognize exceptional service in promoting peace, humanism, mercy, and philanthropy, the award is presented to distinguished state, public, and political figures from Russia and abroad, members of the creative intelligentsia, public organizations, labor collectives, enterprises, and active supporters of peace initiatives whose work has significantly advanced the global peace movement.

According to the official regulations of the Foundation, the decision to confer the medal is made by the Board of the International Public Foundation Russian Peace Foundation, and the award is presented in a solemn ceremonial setting together with an official certificate.

The award was presented by Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Peace Foundation, who recognized Kosim’s meaningful contributions to international peace efforts and humanitarian engagement.

Upon receiving the distinction, Abdukahhor Kosim expressed his heartfelt gratitude:

“I express my sincere gratitude to Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky, Chairman of the Board of the International Public Foundation Russian Peace Foundation, for recognizing my work and presenting me with the prestigious award ‘For Outstanding Contribution to the Russian Peace Foundation’ and the Gold Medal ‘For Peacemaking and Charitable Activities.’”

Kosim also extended special thanks to Latofat Sharipova, Chairperson of the Committee for Peace and National Accord, for nominating his candidacy for this distinguished honor.

This recognition highlights the growing role of Tajik civil society and international cultural diplomacy in advancing global dialogue, humanitarian cooperation, and sustainable peace.

The Russian Peace Foundation continues its longstanding mission of honoring individuals and organizations whose dedication strengthens international friendship, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.
