ANDIJAN, Uzbekistan — August 21, 2026 — A major gathering of representatives of the Turkic literary world was held in Andijan, Uzbekistan, this year’s Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, bringing together leaders and representatives of writers’ unions from across the TURKSOY community.
The meeting, organized under the auspices of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the TURKSOY Writers’ Union, brought together literary figures and representatives from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The gathering provided an important platform for discussion and cooperation among writers’ organizations representing the Turkic-speaking countries. Held in Andijan on 21 August 2026, the meeting also underscored the significance of the city’s designation as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2026.
