The Council of the *Pan African Writers Association (PAWA)* is holding a virtual meeting NOW ( Thursday, 10 September 2026), to discuss urgent matters affecting the Association and consider the way forward.
The meeting brought together Council members for an important exchange on PAWA’s current priorities, challenges, and future direction, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the Association’s role in promoting African literature, writers, and cultural cooperation.

The meeting was convened by **Dr. Wale Okediran, Secretary-General of PAWA, it is being moderated by PAWA President, Professor Bill F. Ndi.

The PAWA Council – elected in 2025 – which will be in office for the next two years is made up of: Professor Bill Ndi ( President), Ms Reyna Lineres Jones ( VP Diaspora), Dr. Ashraf Aboul Yazid ( VP North Africa), Mr Carlos Paradona ( VP Southern Africa), Prof Egara Kabaji ( VP East Africa), Prof Cherno Omar Barry ( VP West Africa), Mr Eric Joel Bekale (VP Central Africa) and the Secretary General, Dr Wale Okediran.
