A Korean business delegation is arriving in Cairo today to participate in the international business forum organized by Dr. Hoda Galal Yassa, Chairperson of the Arab Women Investors Union (AWIU), as part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation, expand investment opportunities, and build new partnerships between Egypt, Korea, and other international markets.

Chairman Kang is scheduled to visit Luxor from 18 to 22 October 2026, following an invitation from Dr. Hoda Yassa to participate in the activities of the 29th Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit.

The summit, scheduled to take place in Luxor under the theme “Investment and Economic Integration: The Path to Sustainable Development,” aims to encourage international investment, strengthen trade relations, and facilitate cooperation among business leaders, investors, institutions, and decision-makers. Its programme includes networking activities, bilateral business meetings, and an exhibition of international products and projects.

A Korean Delegation with Diverse Business Interests

The participation of the Korean delegation reflects an interest in exploring opportunities for closer economic and commercial relations with Egypt and the wider Arab and African regions.

Chairman Kang Woong-sik: Advancing Korea-Egypt Development Cooperation

Chairman Kang Woong-sik, who leads JK Holdings International Ltd. and the Korea-Egypt Development Association (KEDA) represents an important link between Korean business interests and opportunities for cooperation with Egypt.

His participation in the Luxor summit is expected to provide opportunities to explore potential partnerships, encourage business-to-business communication, and identify areas of mutual interest between Korean and Egyptian enterprises.

The Korea-Egypt Development Association, which maintains an online presence at [EKEDA’s official website](https://www.ekeda.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com), is associated with efforts to strengthen links between the two countries.

Chairman Kang’s visit comes at a time when Egypt is seeking to attract international investment, develop new commercial partnerships, and strengthen its position as a gateway to African and Middle Eastern markets.

Ms. Han Jeong-gyu: Tourism, Destination Management, and International Business

The delegation also includes Ms. Han Jeong-gyu, CEO of Jane DMC Korea, a destination management company with operations in Seoul and Busan.

Established in 2006, Jane DMC Korea has experience in organizing international group travel, corporate travel programmes, and large-scale meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

The company’s profile includes programmes for business organizations and corporate groups from India, as well as experience in international tourism and destination management. The company has also reported recognition within Korea’s tourism industry.

Jane DMC Korea’s participation offers an opportunity to explore the potential for tourism cooperation, corporate travel, and the development of business and cultural exchange programmes connecting Korea and Egypt.

With Egypt’s rich archaeological heritage, growing tourism sector, and international profile, cooperation between Egyptian tourism stakeholders and Korean travel professionals could create opportunities for new visitor experiences, organized group tours, and business exchanges.

Asia Honors-Society Association Representative

The third member of the delegation represents the Asia Honors-Society Association (AHA), based in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The representative’s participation adds another dimension to the delegation’s engagement, creating opportunities for professional networking and discussions concerning international cooperation.

The delegation’s collective presence in Egypt brings together interests in business development, tourism, and international professional relations.

Dr. Hoda Yassa and AWIU: Building Bridges Between Markets

The forum is organized under the leadership of Dr. Hoda Galal Yassa, Founder and President of the Arab Women Investors Union, an organization established in 2005 under Resolution No. 1272 of the Council of Arab Economic Ministers.

For more than two decades, AWIU has worked to promote investment, entrepreneurship, economic cooperation, and partnerships connecting Arab countries with African and international markets.

According to the organization’s published profile, its activities include investment forums, networking initiatives, and cooperation involving businesses, investors, and decision-makers. AWIU also reports having organized more than 200 networking events and developed a network of specialized committees supporting its economic and investment objectives.

Its previous activities demonstrate the breadth of its international engagement.

Among its initiatives, AWIU organized the Egyptian-Nepalese Forum and International Cooperation Forum in June 2023, held with the participation of Nepal’s ambassador to Egypt. It also hosted an Egyptian-Bahraini-Saudi-Kuwaiti-Jordanian forum in July 2023 to discuss regional economic cooperation and trade exchange. These initiatives illustrate the union’s continuing efforts to encourage partnerships across national borders.

More recently, the union has participated in initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties between Egypt and African partners. In July 2026, AWIU and representatives of the Republic of the Congo signed a cooperation protocol intended to promote trade and investment. The accompanying Egyptian-Congolese Trade and Investment Forum included bilateral business meetings and discussions about investment opportunities and new export markets. Fourteen trade cooperation agreements were reported during the bilateral meetings, alongside an agreement to establish three investment factories through Egyptian-Congolese partnerships.

In August 2026, Dr. Yassa also met with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy to discuss preparations for the 29th Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit. The meeting highlighted the summit’s objectives of strengthening Arab-African investment and trade partnerships, supporting youth entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and creating employment opportunities.

These activities reflect AWIU’s wider ambition to connect investors, entrepreneurs, institutions, and business leaders in support of sustainable economic development.

Luxor: A Meeting Point for Investment and International Cooperation

The upcoming summit in Luxor is expected to provide an international platform for discussions on investment and economic integration, with an emphasis on practical cooperation and sustainable development.

For the Korean delegation, participation offers an opportunity to engage with Egyptian and international business representatives, explore areas of mutual interest, and establish contacts that may lead to future cooperation.

Potential areas for discussion include trade and investment, tourism and destination management, corporate travel, business networking, and partnerships between companies and institutions.

The delegation’s visit also highlights the importance of people-to-people connections in international economic relations. Alongside formal business discussions, direct engagement among professionals can help identify shared priorities and build the trust necessary for long-term partnerships.

Strengthening Korea-Egypt Relations

Chairman Kang Woong-sik’s visit to Luxor, together with the participation of the Korean delegation, represents an opportunity to strengthen communication between Korean business representatives and their Egyptian counterparts.

Under Dr. Hoda Yassa’s leadership, the summit seeks to bring together international stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, encourage economic integration, and establish partnerships that can contribute to future growth.

As Egypt continues to expand its engagement with Asian and African markets, initiatives of this kind can help connect business communities, open new channels of cooperation, and promote a shared vision of sustainable development.

The Korean delegation’s participation in the Luxor summit underscores the value of international business dialogue and the role of economic forums in transforming professional contacts into opportunities for cooperation between nations.
