HASTA LA PRIMAVERA HUMANA
Ashur Etwebi nació en Trípoli, Libia, el 3 de octubre de 1952. Es poeta, pintor, traductor, narrador, gestor cultural, profesor universitario y médico.
Desde 1993, ha publicado nueve libros de poesía, entre ellos: Poemas del balcón; Tus amigos han cruzado por aquí; Sobre el conocimiento de las criaturas y las cosas; y, Las ciruelas no esperan mucho. También ha publicado siete libros de traducción (incluyendo una selección de poemas de Jala Al-Deen Rumi y una antología de haiku japonés). Una selección de su obra, traducida por Brenda Hillman y Dialla Haidar, fue publicada en Estados Unidos en 2011, bajo el título Poems from Above the Hill.
Sus poemas han sido traducidos al inglés, italiano, francés, alemán, entre otras lenguas. Organizó el Primer Festival Internacional de Trípoli, en 2012, y el Festival de Poesía Poemas y Ciudades, que recorrió el Gran Sahara y las montañas Nafusa, en 2014. Fundó la editorial Sociedad Arknu para la Literatura y las Artes. Organizó igualmente tres festivales internacionales de música en Trípoli. Etwebi es profesor titular del Departamento de Medicina de la Universidad de Zawia, cofundador de Sabratha -Instituto Nacional del Cáncer- en Libia, y pertenece a la Liga de escritores e intelectuales libios.

Ashur Etwebi was born in Tripoli, Libya, on October 3, 1952. He is a poet, painter, translator, storyteller, cultural manager, university professor, and physician.
Since 1993, he has published nine books of poetry, including: Poems from the Balcony; Your Friends Have Passed This Way; On the Knowledge of Creatures and Things; and Plums Don’t Wait Long. He has also published seven books of translation (including a selection of poems by Jala Al-Deen Rumi and an anthology of Japanese haiku). A selection of his work, translated by Brenda Hillman and Dialla Haidar, was published in the United States in 2011 under the title Poems from Above the Hill.
His poems have been translated into English, Italian, French, German, and other languages. He organized the First International Festival of Tripoli in 2012 and the Poetry and Cities Festival, which toured the Great Sahara and the Nafusa Mountains in 2014. He founded the Arknu Society for Literature and the Arts publishing house. He also organized three international music festivals in Tripoli. Etwebi is a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Zawia, co-founder of Sabratha -National Cancer Institute- in Libya, and a member of the League of Libyan Writers and Intellectuals.
