Yusuke Miyake, born in Tokyo in 1969, is a Japanese poet who writes tanka, haiku, and free verse poetry. He has published several poetry collections, including Eru (2008), Toryo (2009), Kiryo (2017), and the Spanish-language collection El Clarividente (2025), and has also contributed to various poetry anthologies. In addition to his original work, he collaborated with other Japanese poets to translate witness poems from Myanmar. He received the Gendai Tanka Criticism Award in 2012. Miyake has been actively engaged in international poetry collaborations and festivals: in 2018 he created a renshi (linked poem) in Turkey with Turkish and Japanese poets; in 2019 he participated in the Constanța Haiku Festival in Romania; in 2020 he co-created a 36-stanza renku with international poets and AI; and in 2022 he joined the Corbu Nizip Poetry Festival in Romania. He took part in poetry programs in Uzbekistan in 2023 and 2024, and in 2024 attended the Indian poetry festival OALF. In 2025, he joined Indonesia’s IMLF poetry festival, participated in the International Poetry Festival of Mexico, was invited as a guest to Ozanın Günü ve Homeros Okuması in Turkey, and delivered a two-day special lecture on traditional Japanese poetry at Navoiy State University in Uzbekistan.
