Ladies and gentlemen, may everything be joyful for you… Honoured by this invitation, I would like to thank the publishing house, the organisers of the very important Book Fair and the author Cao Shui, who I presume will see part of his Epic for Eurasia published in Italy by the end of the year or in early 2026, with the provisional title Disseminiamo nel mondo Amore 我们在天下播撒情种, which I had the audacity and honour to translate from its original language… And since I am not very skilled in the art of public speaking, I think it is only right to conclude and say goodbye by reading two of his poems…

空酒
Calice – Vuoto.
Non esistiamo e non siamo.
In una golata di vino – dissolti nel vino.
La terra fa il girotondo.
Questo vino è un’ombra,
come lo è lo stesso mondo,
la nostra stessa ombra.
Dalla culla alla tomba,
fantasmi senza volto,
di un bicchiere il fondo.
