Xi’an, China — The cultural event “Chinese and Kazakh Poets Revisiting the Tang Poetry Road” was successfully held in Xi’an, marking a new chapter in literary exchange between China and Kazakhstan.

The gathering featured a series of prestigious award ceremonies, including the Kazakhstan Hakim Abai International Gold Award Presentation, the World Turkic Language Association Abai 180th Anniversary Poetry Award, and the Intergalactic Poetry Award Ceremony.

During the event, Ulugbek Yesdaulet, former President of the Kazakhstan Writers Association, presented the World Turkic Language Association’s Abai 180th Anniversary Poetry Award to renowned Chinese poet Cao Shui. Meanwhile, Ms. Wang Fangwen received the Hakim Abai International Gold Award in recognition of her outstanding poetic achievements.

As the Chinese Poetry Ambassador of the Interstellar Poets Organization, Cao Shui presented awards to eight Xi’an poets, celebrating their contributions to contemporary Chinese poetry.

The conference also featured a reading of Ulugbek Yesdaulet’s poetry, translated into Chinese by Cao Shui, as well as a literary dialogue on Cao Shui’s translation of Vadim Terekhin’s poetry collection “The Golden Bird in the Sun”, published by Beiyue Literature and Art Publishing House.

In a significant highlight, Ulugbek Yesdaulet was officially appointed Honorary Chairman of the Silk Road International Poetry Festival, where he presided over the launch ceremony for the 6th Silk Road International Poetry Festival. The upcoming edition of the festival is set to take place in Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, next year, further strengthening cross-cultural poetic ties along the Silk Road.
