The Arab Union for Training, affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States, and chaired by Dr. Diaa Helmy, extends its sincere congratulations to the distinguished writer and poet Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid on the occasion of his earning a Doctorate Degree from the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) in the State of Delaware, USA.
Dr. Aboul-Yazid’s doctoral dissertation, entitled “Crisis Management in the Arabic Novel and Its Social Impact,” presents an in-depth academic exploration of the concept of crisis management within the broader field of social sciences. The study examines the Arabic novel as a powerful instrument for social change, while also shedding light on leading figures of Arabic and Arabophone fiction in the twentieth century. Furthermore, the dissertation traces the theme of crisis management from autobiographical writing to narrative fiction, reflecting a rich critical and cultural vision.
This scholarly achievement is a natural extension of Dr. Aboul-Yazid’s long and diverse creative journey, marked by the publication of influential novels and poetry collections since 1989. In addition, his distinguished contributions to travel literature are considered landmark works within the Arab library. His role as a translator is equally prominent, with nearly twenty published translations, alongside notable creative works in children’s and young adult literature.
