Poetry between Personal Inspiration and Social Responsibility
A new edition of the literary and cultural series “Mots pour Maux” will take place online on Sunday, 24 May 2026, from 16:00 to 17:30 (CET), bringing together writers, scholars, and readers for a reflective dialogue on the role of poetry in contemporary society.
This session will explore the central theme: “Poetry between personal inspiration and social responsibility,” examining how poetic expression emerges from individual experience while also engaging with collective realities, ethical questions, and cultural dialogue.
The invited guest for this edition is Alexandra Cretté, poet and founder of the literary journal Oyapock. Her work and editorial vision have contributed to fostering contemporary poetic voices and expanding literary exchange across cultural spaces.
The discussion will be moderated by Roberto Louis-Charles, doctoral researcher in Literature, who will guide the conversation through critical perspectives on poetry’s evolving function in modern intellectual and artistic life.
The event will be held online via Zoom, ensuring open access to an international audience of readers, writers, students, and cultural practitioners.
