Baghdad, — In the ceremonial halls of Baghdad Palace, where history and the present converge, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received a high-level delegation from the World Peoples’ Assembly, headed by its Secretary-General, Andrey Belyaninov. The meeting unfolded as a thoughtful exchange on the future of international dialogue and the shared responsibility of nations to uphold the values of peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
At the heart of the discussions were a number of global initiatives designed to strengthen bridges between peoples and cultures, as well as a proposal of particular resonance: the convening of an International Forum — the International Peoples’ Summit — in Iraq, in partnership with the World Peoples’ Assembly.
President Rashid warmly welcomed the proposal, affirming that Iraq, with its profound civilizational legacy and enduring cultural presence, stands as a natural meeting place for the world’s voices. For his part, Secretary-General Andrey Belyaninov expressed his gratitude for the President’s openness and support. He conveyed his hope that President Rashid would inaugurate the International Peoples’ Summit and serve as the honorary chair of its organizing committee. The Summit is scheduled to take place in Baghdad next April, aspiring to position the Iraqi capital once more as a beacon of dialogue and a gathering point for the conscience of humanity.
