What do editors do when they are not editing? They write.
Penprints Publication, under the leadership of Supriyo Chakraborty, invites readers and literary enthusiasts to a special evening that brings editors out from behind the margins and into the spotlight as authors in their own right. These are writers who live in language daily—shaping, refining, and preserving words between drafts, deadlines, and long days of editorial craft.
On April 25 at 8:30 PM, Penprints will host The Editors’ Book Launch, a celebration dedicated to the creative voices of its editorial team. The event marks a rare and meaningful occasion where editors step forward as authors, presenting their own books, poems, and literary works shaped by years of engagement with literature.
The evening will feature a conversation-driven, community-centered gathering titled: “In conversation. In community. In print.” It will be hosted by Smita Sahay and Babitha Marina Justin, bringing together writers, editors, and readers in a shared literary space.
Featured works and authors include contributions by Sivakami Velliangiri, Geetha Ravichandran, Shikhandin, Ankush Banerjee, Babitha Marina Justin, and Nithya Mariam John, with titles such as Kitchen Poems, Footnotes in Sharp, Field Notes on Kindness, and The Way Madmen Smell. These works reflect a wide range of poetic, reflective, and narrative voices, revealing the depth and diversity of the editorial community behind Penprints.

This unique literary evening highlights the dual identity of editors as both custodians and creators of literature. It celebrates the idea that those who shape the books of others also carry powerful stories of their own—stories now stepping into the light.
