The international literary community will come together on 10 September 2026 for the online launch of Beyond the Language – Volume III, a multilingual anthology of poetry bringing together voices in Manipuri, Malayalam, Arabic, Russian, Sindhi, Nepali and Bodo, accompanied by English translations.

The editor of the anthology , Misna Chanu

Published by Authorspress India, the new volume is a celebration of poetry’s ability to cross linguistic, geographical and cultural boundaries. With its constellation of languages and poetic traditions, Beyond the Language demonstrates that literature does not end at the borders of language; rather, translation opens new paths of communication, understanding and human solidarity.

Dr Hanan Awwad

The online launch will feature distinguished literary, academic and cultural figures from different parts of the world. Dr. Hanan Awwad, the Palestinian poet, activist, academic and former Cultural Advisor to President Yasser Arafat, will attend as Chief Guest. Her participation adds a significant voice from Palestine to an anthology devoted to dialogue among cultures and languages.

The Guests of Honour include Dr. Usha Mujoo Munshi, former President of the Information and Communication Society of India and Chief Librarian of the India International Centre (IIC), and Bhagat Oinam, Faculty Member at the Centre for Philosophy and Concurrent Faculty at the Special Centre for the Study of North East India, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

The anthology brings together an international editorial team, including Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, alongside the editor of the anthology Misna Chano, K. Jayakumar, Eldar Akhadov, Mohini Hingorani, Bidhan Acharya, Anjalee Basumatary, Dr. Vinod Asudani, and other contributors representing the anthology’s diverse linguistic traditions.

Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid

Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid’s participation as an editor and representative of the Arabic language reflects his continuing engagement with international literary exchange and translation. His contribution to the volume places Arabic poetry within a wider dialogue with poetic voices from South Asia, Russia and other cultural spheres.

The launch will also feature poetry readings in several languages. Among the announced readers are Ms. Savita Gautam for Nepali, Eldar Akhadov for Russian, Rajkumari Devi for Manipuri, Rashmi Choudhury and other participating poets, creating a living multilingual dimension to the event.

The volume carries a Foreword by Professor Malashri Lal and is presented as a literary meeting place where different languages can speak to one another through the shared language of poetry.

The title Beyond the Language captures the central spirit of the project: poetry may be born in a particular language, culture and landscape, but its emotions, imagination and human questions can travel far beyond them. Translation becomes not merely a linguistic exercise, but an act of cultural friendship and literary bridge-building.

The organizers warmly invite poets, writers, translators, academics, journalists, readers and lovers of literature around the world to join the online celebration and witness this gathering of voices across languages.

Beyond language, poetry finds its common human ground.

Beyond the Language – Volume III is now available through Amazon India, published by Authorspress India.
