May 2025 — The World Poetry Movement (WPM) extends a heartfelt invitation to poets, artists, and cultural institutions around the world to take part in the Global Poetry Action for Gaza, a monumental initiative in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Scheduled for June 28–29, 2025, this international poetic gathering aims to uplift the voice of Palestine through the universal language of poetry. As part of this global movement, WPM encourages all participants to record a 3- to 4-minute video of themselves reading a poem about Palestine—or a poem of their choosing. Videos should be filmed horizontally on mobile phones within the next ten days, and accompanied by the text of the poem in English or Spanish.

In addition to the video campaign, WPM is calling for mass in-person poetry readings on May 15 or June 28–29 in each country, gathering poets and audiences in public or cultural spaces to express their support for Gaza through poetic expression.
WPM also invites educators and institutions to organize parallel poetry workshops in schools and colleges globally, introducing students to Palestinian poetry and voices as a way to foster cultural understanding and resistance through art.
