ACCRA, Ghana — October 2, 2026 — Fresh energy, youthful creativity and a passion for entertainment took center stage this evening as Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor returned to the microphone for the UniMAC Freshers’ Welcome Jam, hosted at Unimas Residence (Pleasant Garden), behind the University of Media, Arts and Communication – Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ) Dzorwulu Campus in Accra.
Now officially a fresher at UniMAC-IJ, formerly known as the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Nutifafa brought her trademark enthusiasm and commanding emceeing style to the campus celebration, helping turn the welcome gathering into a memorable experience for new and continuing students.
For Nutifafa, the event represents more than another appearance on stage. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in her academic and professional journey—one that brings together journalism, public speaking, event hosting and creative leadership.
From school leadership to the professional stage
Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor is a student of UniMAC-IJ, a trainee journalist at DEL REPORT, an emerging event host and a multiple award-winning former student leader.
A 2026 graduate of St. Mary’s Senior High School in Accra, she served as the school’s Head Entertainment Prefect, where she became a driving creative force behind student events and helped transform ordinary school programmes into vibrant experiences for the student community.
Her growing profile as an emcee has already taken her to some of Ghana’s major youth and cultural platforms.
On December 20, 2025, she represented St. Mary’s SHS as an emcee at Face of High School Ghana 2025, held at the National Theatre of Ghana, where she received the High School Leadership & Talent Best Presenter Award.
She returned to the National Theatre on July 7, 2026, to host the 5th National High School Dance and Drama Championships 2026 as an emcee. She also hosted the High School Leavers Party in the Park pre-jams on July 10 and the main event on July 18, 2026, in Accra.
Her leadership and creative contribution were further recognized at St. Mary’s SHS’s 2026 graduation ceremony, where she received the SRC Award for Outstanding Entertainment Prefect and the High School Excellence Award for Best Girls’ Entertainment Prefect 2026.
A new chapter at UniMAC
Her transition to UniMAC-IJ brings together two of her strongest interests: journalism and entertainment. As she begins her university journey, Nutifafa is positioning herself as a young communicator capable of moving confidently between the newsroom, the stage and the wider creative industry.
Her interest in journalism also forms part of a broader professional lineage. She is related to Dela Ahiawor, an established Ghanaian international journalist and sustainability editor who has covered major international events, including the Olympic Games as an accredited journalist.
With her appearance at the UniMAC Freshers’ Welcome Jam, Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor is beginning her university chapter with the same energy that defined her high-school leadership years—with the microphone in hand, creativity in motion and a clear ambition to make every stage count.
