Award-Winning Investigative Editor Dr. George Elijah Otumu Receives International Honour, Becomes First Nigerian Appointed Diaspora Chairman of the Congress of African Journalists (CAJ)

Abuja | Washington, D.C. | May 2026 — In a landmark development for African journalism and global media diplomacy, renowned award-winning investigative editor, media strategist, and international communications expert, Dr. George Elijah Otumu has been officially appointed as the first Nigerian Diaspora Chairman of the Congress of African Journalists, marking a historic milestone in the organization’s expanding international engagement.

The appointment was formally approved by the Board of Trustees and Executive Council of the Congress of African Journalists, the continent’s premier and highly respected professional media association, officially registered under RC: 153753.
