Spotlight on St. Mary’s SHS Entertainment Prefect: Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor

‎By  Ellen Amoah

‎At the prestigious St. Mary’s Senior High School in the heart of Accra, Ghana’s capital city, leadership goes beyond academics—it’s about setting the rhythm of school life.

‎Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor, a recent (2026) General Arts graduate and the Head Entertainment Prefect of St. Mary’s SHS, was the driving creative force who elevated routine school events into unforgettable experiences for the entire student body.

‎No wonder, her videos went viral for her magnetic stage presence and ability to energize massive student crowds through dance and hype announcements during school events, including the 2026 homecoming event. Students and alumni widely praised her as a natural- born emcee (MC) who commands the stage with immense confidence.

‎She is frequently described as “such a vibe” and praised for her all-round artistic talents that perfectly embody the lively spirit of  St. Mary’s Senior High School’s creative entertainment culture.

‎During the school’s homecoming event on the eve of the 76th Speech and Prize-Giving Day, Nutifafa captivated old students of St. Mary’s SHS with her radiant talent.

‎Reflecting on the event, Nutifafa who is widely known as the most popular student at St. Mary’s said: “I elevated the atmosphere with my dance moves and hype announcements. Many students said it was the ultimate entertainment since they entered St. Mary’s. One alumna confessed to me that she had the time of her life at the homecoming, adding that my hype announcements beat what she gets at the club. Another old student also called me her student crush. Indeed, the feedback about me at the Face of Merries 2026 Y2k Night was incredible—many said my performance was a 1000%  vibe.”

‎”Those words gave me a great boost, to my incredible Assistant Entertainment Prefect, Jessica Sedinam Nupke and every single ‘Merries’ student: thank you! You all played a massive role in making my reign unforgettable. I couldn’t have done it without your amazing energy. I also deeply appreciate our Headmistress, Ms. Philomena Owusu- Ansah, for her steadfast leadership and support. Initially she was unreceptive to pure entertainment, but her perspective shifted once I introduced the concept of edutainment, which successfully bridged the gap between learning and fun.”

‎”At the 2026 post-graduation mass (church service) the headmistress said that I deserved a hug for all the fun entertainment I had brought to the students, noting that St. Mary’s entertainment would not be the same without me. She also said she would invite me to help with future programmes in the school.”

‎Representing her school, as the emcee of the “Face of High School Ghana 2025” event, held at the National Theatre of Ghana on December 30, Nutifafa Dela Ahiawor won the High School Leadership & Talent Best Presenter Award.

‎Also at the June 13, 2026, graduation ceremony of St. Mary’s SHS, Nutifafa received two well-deserved awards: the Student Representative Council (SRC) Award for Outstanding Entertainment Prefect and the High School Excellence Award for Best Girls’ Entertainment Prefect for 2026.
