Celebrating African Literature and Global Voices

Paris, France – March 2026
The Paris African Book Fair returns on March 21–22, 2026, with a compelling poster edition that captures the richness, diversity, and dynamism of African and Afro-descendant literature. Hosted at the historic Cordeliers Refectory in the heart of Paris (15 rue de l’École de Médecine, 75006), the fair invites the public to explore a literary journey across continents—with free admission for all visitors.

Open Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the event will bring together publishing houses from around twenty countries, highlighting a strong presence from Senegal. Featured publishers include L’Harmattan Senegal, Senegal Editions, Saaraba Editions, and Elma Group Editions, reflecting the vibrancy of West African publishing.

This year’s poster edition places a special spotlight on “Senegal Trade Publication,” showcasing a curated selection of works that bridge cultures and voices. Among the highlights is A Street in Cairo, a poetry collection by Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, translated from Arabic by Houda Ashraf and recognized as a finalist for the 2025 Balisaille International Prize. The collection offers an evocative exploration of memory, identity, and urban life. It is presented by Arwa Bin Dhia

Also featured are two significant anthologies that underscore the breadth of African and Afro-descendant literary expression:

Between Roots and Peaks, an anthology of short stories that navigates heritage and aspiration, with a preface by Arwa Ben Dhia.

Songs of Undominated Lands, a powerful poetry anthology celebrating resilience and freedom, also introduced by Arwa Ben Dhia.

Marked as “exclusive” selections in the poster edition, these works exemplify the fair’s commitment to elevating diverse narratives and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

The Paris African Book Fair continues to serve as a vital platform for writers, translators, publishers, and readers to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate the enduring power of literature.
