As part of the celebrations honouring the rich Arabic scholarly tradition of Farookabad, a Symposium on “Arabic Legacy of Farookabad” and the Book Release Ceremony of the work authored on Prof. P. Muhammed Kuttassery were held on 28th September 2026 at Parison Hall, Farook College, Calicut, Kerala, India.
BOOK RELEASE CEREMONY OF “AL USTADH MUHAMMAD KUTTASSERY: RIHLAT ILM WA ATA'”
The Book Release Ceremony of “Al Ustadh Muhammad Kuttassery: Rihlat Ilm wa Ata'” authored by Dr. Yoosuf Nadwi on Prof. P. Muhammed Kuttassery was held at Parison Hall, Farook College, as part of the symposium.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Muhammed Abid U. P. (Head, PG & Research Department of Arabic, Farook College). Prof. (Dr.) K. A. Aysha Swapna (Principal, Farook College) chaired the session.
Dr. Yoosuf Muhammed Nadwi, the author, introduced the book. The inaugural address and formal release of the book were performed by Jb. Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal. The first copy was received by Prof. A. Kuttialikutty (Former Principal, Farook College & Secretary, Rouzathul Uloom Association). Adv. M. Mohamad (Manager, Farook College Managing Committee) and Prof. N. V. Abdurahman (Former Syndicate Member, University of Calicut) presented mementos to the guests.
Special addresses were delivered by Jb. P. O. Hashim (President, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College Managing Committee), Prof. E. P. Imbichikoya (Manager, Farook Training College & Former Principal, Farook College), Prof. P. Muhammed Kuttassery (Eminent Scholar and Writer), Prof. (Dr.) T. Mohamed Saleem (Principal, Farook Training College & Syndicate Member, University of Calicut), and Lt. (Dr.) A. T. Abdul Jabbar (Syndicate Member, University of Calicut).
Felicitations were offered by Jb. Shaikh Muhammad Karakunnu (Author and Islamic Scholar), Dr. K. V. Veeran Moidheen (Retd. Professor, Department of Arabic, University of Calicut), Dr. Musthafa Farooqi (Former Principal, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College), Dr. Sayyid Muhammed Shakir P. (Former Principal, MUA College, Pulikkal), Dr. Aboobacker K. (Head, Department of Arabic, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College), Jb. K. K. Ali Kutty Master (Former Faculty, FHSS, Farook College), and Dr. Ayman Shouqi P. (Associate Professor (Retd.), Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College). The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jamseer P. K. (Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College).
SYMPOSIUM ON “ARABIC LEGACY OF FAROOKABAD”
The symposium session was chaired by Dr. Shahad Bin Aly, Principal, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College. Prof. (Dr.) K. A. Aysha Swapna, Principal, Farook College, delivered the Special Address. The symposium was formally inaugurated by Jb. P. M. A. Sameer MLA.
Dr. Hussain Madavoor, Former Principal, Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College, made the Theme Presentation. Papers were presented by eminent scholars: Dr. Jamaludheen Farooqi K (Former Principal, WMO College, Muttil), Prof. K. T. Hamza (Former Head, PG & Research Department of Arabic, Farook College), Dr. Ali Noufal K (Head, Department of Arabic, University of Calicut), and Jb. M. M. Aboobacker Farooqi (Former Faculty, FHSS, Farook College).
The symposium highlighted the rich contributions of Farookabad to Arabic language, literature and scholarship.
The event was jointly organized by the PG & Research Department of Arabic, Farook College (Autonomous) and Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College, Calicut, Kerala, India.
