At the Consulate General of Russia in Rio de Janeiro, a meeting took place between representatives of the World Organization of Writers (WOW), participating in the World Public Summit in Latin America, and the Consul General of Russia in Rio de Janeiro, Feodosy Alexandrovich Vladyshevsky.

The participants included Vera Ananieva, Assistant to the Russian Consul; Margarita Al, President of the World Organization of Writers (WOW), philosopher, and poet; and writer Elena Olzeeva.

The discussion focused on practical yet meaningful issues: how to preserve the achievements of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World and the World Organization of Writers within the cultural agenda and transform them into concrete initiatives. A key moment of the meeting was the presentation of books. Among the featured publications were “Russian Cosmism” by Alexandra Ochirova, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and “AprioriUm” by Margarita Al, presented simultaneously in three languages—Russian, Arabic, and English. Another important segment showcased books by WOW Prize laureates, demonstrating the organization’s systematic support for authors and literary projects.

The conversation then turned to the activities of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World and the World Organization of Writers itself, highlighting programs that bring together research, translation, and public readings, as well as the literary salons and discussions recently held in Brazil. Participants connected the goals of cultural diplomacy with the daily practice of editing and translation, where success is measured by the quality of the text and the depth of dialogue.

During the meeting, a month-long WOW literary tour across Brazil and Colombia was officially announced, covering São Paulo, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, and Medellín. The program will include roundtable discussions on “Creating the Image of the Human Being of the Future in Literature,” a series of “World Literature Salon” events, and author evenings featuring Margarita Al. The tour is designed as a continuous sequence of open conversations and literary readings, where new works meet new audiences and professional communities are connected through translation and collaborative formats.

The Consul General also spoke about the cultural life of Rio de Janeiro, emphasizing the balance between tradition and innovation and the city’s unique spaces where music, literature, and theater converge. He also highlighted his own contribution to the translation of Brazilian poetry, describing it as both a practice of mutual understanding and a way of building lasting bridges between linguistic and cultural worlds.
